Spartan Success Formula
General Graduation Information:
(credit for wording given to MHS SBISD)
CREDITS: All students must graduate with 26 total credits which includes 1 Physical Ed Credit, 1 Fine Art Credit, and 2 credits of the SAME foreign language. Additionally, students need 4 credits in electives. Typically, those electives chosen go toward an endorsement.
DROPPING OR ADDING CLASSES:
Requests to drop or add a class must meet the above criteria to be considered and may be granted or denied based on space and availability. General guidelines for dropping and adding classes are based on UIL eligibility rules. Course adds or drops must occur within the first 9 days of the semester. Students must meet state laws and SBISD policy governing class attendance in order to receive credit for each course. Eligibility for extracurricular activities is also based on student attendance requirements in each course. Therefore, no drops or adds will be approved after the 9th day of the semester, in accordance with UIL eligibility rules.
Students enrolled in Pre-AP, AP or GT classes may request a level change to the equivalent standard course after the 3rd week and 6th week progress reports and at the end of the 9 week grading period. Level change request forms will be available in each alpha office.
Remember, when emailing your counselor, in the SUBJECT LINE write the FULL NAME of the student and when leaving a phone message, state the students FULL NAME and spell the LAST NAME.
